Even if a profile was made on a non-Mac, it still should show up and be accepted as a file on your Mac. Profiles are really designed to be exchangeable across different operating systems… at least if they are “ICC compliant profiles” they are. (I have run into profiles that do not follow the spec in one way or another.)
Certainly in recent years and with recent OS’s you no longer need the ‘Make ColorSync Profile’ app. That was only for older Mac OS’s (8, 9, and early X). But changing things like the file types and creators is just not needed anymore.
I’d like to step back a bit and ask what problems you’re having with this profile? Maybe something else is going on?
