Measuring targets in colorthink 4.0

I was wondering if some consideration could be given to changing the measurement subsystem of Colorthink 4.0 to allow for chart measurement simply based on the number of rows and columns in the chart. Currently, a chart definition with color values is required. Profilemaker MeasureTool sets the example closest to what I am describing.

That’s a great idea.

So I’m thinking in this instance that you don’t have (or perhaps care) about RGB/CMYK/device values for the patches and you simply want to measure some color samples?

Thank you for your interest and reply.

I think there is value to having all the representations for patches available, inclusive of Lab* especially because it offers the opportunity to graphically display deviations between standards and measured device independent color. Why make people go through the sturm und drang of using an external measurement mechanism to create a CGATS file when the measurements could be directly done in Colorthink in the first place?
