Hello!
A weird result that I would like to better understand if possible.
I know that people here are clever than me.
Configuration:
ColorThink Pro 4.1.
Mac OS Sequoia.
Mac Studio M1 Max.
Spot Color measured with MYIROtools.
Export in two different formats.
Results mismatch.
Both files contain exactly the same LAB and CMYK values. The difference in ColorThink Pro likely comes from a difference in the measurement metadata.
CGATS file (.txt)
Illuminant: “Auto” (UserIlluminant)
Observer: 2°
Date/time: 2026-02-06T14:29:23
CXF file (.cxf)
Illuminant: “M0_Incandescent” (45° illumination)
Observer: 2_Degree
Date/time: 2026-02-06T11:43:56
Geometry: 45°/0° (45° illumination, 0° measurement)
ColorThink Pro likely interprets the CGATS file with the “Auto” illuminant (which could be D50, D65, or other depending on default settings) and the CXF file with the M0 illuminant (incandescent/tungsten, ~2856K).
Thank you for your explanations!
Sincerely.
