Mini Color Checker ...

… and color CCD calibration

Hi,

I just got an i1 Photo device with which I am able to calibrate my digital cameras.

I am not new to the whole Color Management topic, but calibrating my CCD has been quite a task which I have not been able to accomplish.

Does i1 Photo know when I am using the Mini Color Checker or do I have to select from somewhere the reference file ?

Here you can see my test photo

Thanks in advance and best regards Rainer

Hi Rainer,

The Color Checker chart (regular or mini) will not work in making a camera profile. The 16 patches on this chart are not enough to make a good representation of the color space that is being measured. Also, the i1 Match software does not support this chart, but only supports the GretagMacbeth ColorChecker SG.

I believe the Mini ColorChecker is included in the i1 Photo kit so that photographers can use it in a scene to gray-balance the camera, and then confirm the gray balance during post processing in Photoshop.

Hi Pat,

Thank you. I think I will then next year get the Color checker SG.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2008

saludos Rainer
